Pre-conference Doctoral Colloquium Proposal

General Information

We solicit submissions to the Doctoral Colloquium (DC) for INDAM 2024. The DC is a half-day, invitation-only event taking place the day before the INDAM conference i.e. January 10th, 2024. Participating Doctoral scholars from across the management institutes will get an opportunity to present their proposed dissertation work and receive feedback from leading senior scholars.

The colloquium will allow Doctoral scholars at different stages of their dissertation to discuss their research directions in a supportive atmosphere with a panel of distinguished scholars and with their peers. Students can expect helpful feedback and fresh perspectives on their research topics and will have the opportunity to interact closely with expert researchers in their field. The colloquium will support community-building by connecting early-career and established researchers in a welcoming and mentorship-forward environment.

Format

The colloquium will consist of both parallel round-table discussion sessions with the expert panellists and the specially curated Professional Development Workshops (PDWs) useful for the Doctoral scholars in imparting skills related to research as well teaching useful for their academic career. Only selected applicants will be allowed to participate in the colloquium and those selected will be expected to attend all the events during the DC.

A roundtable discussion session will give student participants the opportunity to interact more informally with all panellists and their contemporary scholars. This will give the scholars an opportunity to receive guidance reflecting a broader set of perspectives.

Apart from the roundtable sessions, the DC will also organize PDWs focusing on the arts of publication and case writing, vital for these scholars in transforming them to a holistic academe.
